RCCI launches new identity, outlines business initiatives

Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) launched its new identity here on Wednesday.

The new identity reflects the new mission, vision and value of RCCI adapted to match the ambitious plans being developed in the country for comprehensive transformation and economical diversification under the direct leadership from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

The launch, attended by Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfik Al-Rabiah, RCCI and Council of Saudi Chambers Chairman Abdulrahman Al-Zamil, and RCCI Secretary General Mohammed Al-Kathiri, along with top businessmen and businesswomen, and journalists.

Addressing the event, Al-Rabiah commended the role of RCCI in positively influencing and proposing business and industry regulations and infrastructures responsive to business community interests and needs not only in Riyadh region but in the entire Kingdom.

“Riyadh chamber continues to play an active role in influencing and shaping many business, economic and industry laws and regulations over the past 50 years,” he said, giving the formation of the four industrial zones in Riyadh region as examples of the outcomes of those efforts.

Referring to the support extended by King Salman to the business community since he was the governor of Riyadh Region, Al-Zamil said: “This limitless support was behind the development that we see here in the capital whether in terms of huge infrastructure build up, or construction projects, or prosperous business and services activities.”

As part of the identity launch event, RCCI announced a host of major business initiatives it has formulated. Al-Kathiri said that all these initiative, planned to be realized within the coming five years, were received and supported well by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar and RCCI plans to commission them through special committees of experts and businessmen.

The initiatives include transforming Riyadh to a regional business center by 2020, forming a marking strategy to position Riyadh as the main hub for local, regional, and international exhibitions and conferences by 2019, and promoting partnerships between different business sectors in the capital area to achieve more development and enhancement and applying advanced technologies to achieve sustainable economic development on one hand and consolidate RCCI’s commitment to stimulate entrepreneurship projects of male and female young Saudis on the other.
