Al-Ahsa bomber’s dad clueless what drove his son to terrorism
Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, the father of Al-Ahsa suicide bomber Abdul Rahman, has stressed that his son did not display any strange behavior. “He was obedient and performed his prayers.”
He explained: “What happened was a tragedy for me and his mother and I did not notice any radicalism since his arrest a year and a half ago. He was with me last Thursday in west Buraidah and in our conversation, there was no reference to what happened, and he left us on Thursday for the disaster in Al-Ahsa that happened on Friday.”
He said his son had not yet reached his 22nd birthday and worked in one of the restaurants in Buraidah. He studied at the community college and shared a flat with his brother.
“My son was subjected to magic and I don’t know how the spell was cast especially since Abdul Rahman never went out of the house much, was never with suspicious characters, never even traveled outside Saudi Arabia and doesn’t even have a passport,” said the father, a government employee in the agricultural sector.
“I don’t know how my son was kidnapped this way and I can’t believe what happened, and I am against anyone who seeks to undermine the security of the nation or divide its unity.”
