Ministry of Labor representatives ensure that private enterprises follow rules and regulations.

The Ministry of Labor (MoL) has detected 9,683 violations in the first quarter of the current lunar calendar of 1437 A.H., following 31,345 visits to private enterprises in the different regions of Saudi Arabia.

The visits were made in connection with the ministry’s efforts to adjust the labor market and protect business owners and the parties that benefit from it.

The MoL said that it is set to impose 1,490 penalties on companies for violating Article 38 of the Labor Law which prohibits the employer from engaging the services of non-Saudis for jobs not indicated in the work permit.

The law also prohibits an employee to engage in a career that’s not his lawful profession.

The MoL is also set to mete out 930 penalties on companies for violating Article 36 which prohibits an employer from employing foreigners in jobs intended only for Saudi nationals.

Moreover, the MOL is also set to impose 511 penalties in violation of Article 39 of the Saudi Labor Law which prohibits the employer from allowing his worker employed by others.

The MoL inspectors also observed several violations of the decisions relating to the feminization of women’s shops, in which 934 were arrested.

The ministry expressed determination to continue with its inspection campaigns in the different regions and governorates of the Kingdom.

The MoL said that it will implement the rules and regulations and that a committee has been formed to follow up and coordinate with relevant authorities for the application of sanctions imposed on workers and employers.

It also renewed its call for all parties concerned to communicate through the phone service number 19911 to receive any inquiries or complaints about work and decisions and instructions.
