A Saudi father has urged his two sons to immediately surrender, after their names recently appeared on the list of suspects who participated in the terror attack on the Special Emergency Forces Mosque in Asir in August last year.

Salem Yaslam Al-Sai’ari was quoted as saying by local media that his sons were shedding the blood of innocents in the name of jihad.

“I condemn the terrorist act in which my sons, Tayei and Mutee’a, participated in as part of the group whose mind is poisoned. They are killing innocents.”

He said that Tayei was studying electrical engineering in New Zealand with the cost shouldered by the Ministry of Education.

“He was extraordinary in education. But I was surprised two-and-a-half years ago when he went to Syria for jihad.”

Al-Sai’ari contacted Tayei by phone and told him that he was not happy with this act, and as his guardian neither allowed nor asked him to go for jihad.

“But he didn’t listen to us. After sometime, he informed us that he married a Syrian woman and had a child with her. I was expecting that he was fighting in Syria. I was surprised when his name appeared in the Ministry of Interior’s list of terror suspects. This news has come as a shock because he joined hands in destruction and killing people of his own country.”

Al-Sai’ari said that his other son, Muteea, was studying at the technical college of Dammam.

“He was taking care of our affairs. Before the year end, one of his cousins had a head injury when he participated at the southern borders with our army against the Houthi aggression. He asked me to allow him to travel to see him in the Armed Forces Hospital in Khamis Mushayt,” he said.

“A day after he left, I was shocked when I received a letter from him, in which he said he had left the Kingdom for Yemen. He said in the letter that he was wanted by the government and he might be jailed,” said Al-Sai’ari

The father said that after receiving the letter, he went to the nearest police station and informed them in an attempt to prevent his son from going to the conflict zone of Yemen. “But we could not find him. We were surprised to find his name on the list of terrorists who participated in the attack on the Asir mosque.”
