King Salman to other countries: Don’t interfere in our affairs

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman while calling for security and peace in the region stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had “the right to defend itself and urged others not to interfere in its affairs,” here on Sunday.

King Salman issued this warning to provocateurs to desist from destabilizing the region and disturbing peace with their acts. The King made the statement in a speech at the Al-Yamama Palace.

Earlier, he received at the palace guests of the 30th Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture, in which he welcomed the intellectuals participating in the Janadriyah Festival, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The festival is one of the important cultural celebrations in the Kingdom. Janadriyah is an annual festival celebrating the heritage of the people of Saudi Arabia. The festival has a high significance in the Arab world. Germany is this year’s cultural guest at the festival.

King Salman, while reiterating that the Janadriyah Festival is a milestone in the Arab cultural, literary and historical scene for more than three decades, stressed in his speech that the Kingdom spares no efforts in serving the guests of God.

“We are honored in the Kingdom to serve the Two Holy Mosques and Muslims around the world. This country spares no effort in serving pilgrims and those coming here to perform Umrah,” King Salman said.

“We are keen on having security and peace prevail in our region. It is our right to defend ourselves without interfering in the affairs of others. We call on others not to interfere in our affairs. Therefore, we defend the Muslim lands, cooperate with the Arab and Muslim brothers everywhere to defend their countries and ensure their independence.

“We are ready, and there should be cooperation in countering poverty and ignorance. Saudi Arabia is the destination of Muslims, and the Two Holy Mosques is our major responsibility,” King Salman said.

“Our religion — Islam — is a religion of moderation, justice and mercy. Terrorism is contrary to Islam, which is a religion of love and cooperation,” King Salman said.

“We and you have a great responsibility in unifying the ranks and enlightening the Ummah. We ought to be optimistic in spite of the circumstances surrounding us. The collective efforts and determination will extricate us from these crises, God willing,” King Salman added.

“There are no crises and insecurity problems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The security of your country, the country of the Two Holy Mosques, is the security of you — the pilgrims and visitors,” King Salman said.

King Salman later held a banquet in honor of the guests of the National Festival for Heritage and Culture.
