Lavrov: U.S. mulls Russian proposal on Syria

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry meets Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for their meeting on Syria, in Zurich.


Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday Russia had proposed a “concrete” plan to resolve the Syria crisis to the United States, RIA news agency reported.

Lavrov said Washington was studying the proposal.

In the same time, Secretary of State John Kerry also made statements on Tuesday, urging Russia to help agreement on ceasefire in Syria.

Kerry said Russian activities in Syria are making it difficult to hold peace talks on ending the Syrian conflict.

“Russia’s activities from Aleppo and in the region are making it much more difficult to be able to come to the table and be able to have a serious conversation,” Kerry told reporters.
