Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has written a patriotic poem to inspire Saudi troops at the southern borders.

Titled, “I wish to be with you,” the poem infuses encouragement in the hearts and minds of troops guarding the borders in Najran, Asir and Jazan.

It also expresses in tender and lucid lines the poet’s desire to join the troops in their valor and heroism in defending the Kingdom from the terrorists.

The poem has been placed on a board bearing messages from students in coordination with the Department of Education in Jeddah.

In his poem, Prince Khaled lauds the Saudi troops for their patriotism, selflessness as well as love for their country, even at the expense of their lives.

On Wednesday, three members of the National Guard died in Rabuah in Najran while defending their country and their religion.

The well-known Saudi Islamic scholar Dr. Mohsin Shaikh Al-Hassan — also a TV host and a poet himself — has expressed appreciation and gratitude for the poem.

“Prince Khaled is not only the king’s adviser and Makkah governor, he’s also an authority on Arab and Islamic literature,” Al-Hassan said.

“Price Khaled’s poems reach the southern borders of the Kingdom and people there read and admire them. They look up to him,” he said.

He added that the poet has won numerous awards from prestigious literary organizers.
