Amnesty International has demanded that Mustafa Al-Hosawi, a Saudi prisoner at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, be treated for the torture he underwent at the hands of the CIA.

The US branch of the organization sent a message to health officials at the Pentagon to seek treatment for Al-Hosawi, one of five prisoners at Guantanamo charged with planning 9/11 attacks.

The message, signed by Margret Howang, director of Amnesty in the US, said that Al-Hosawi suffers from rectal problems, which were diagnosed by doctors as very painful and humiliating. These problems could have resulted from torture during his arrest by the CIA, reported Alhayat newspaper.

Gary Ross, spokesman for the Pentagon, refused to comment on Al-Hosawi’s case.
