Madinah governor visits project sites
Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman recently visited a number of ongoing developmental project sites in the Holy City, as part of his efforts to ensure that they meet the set standards and deadlines.
During the visit, he said that all the sectors and companies involved in the projects have to abide by the time frame for each project.
The projects have been undertaken as a push toward development and better services to the people of the region, visitors and pilgrims.
Prince Faisal started his visit from Dar Al-Hijra owned by the General Investment Fund. Mohammad Al Mazeed, assistant minister of finance and chairman of the founding committee of Dar Al-Hijrah, and number of officials briefed him about the progress of the project, which includes four five-star and 18 four-star hotels, 11 office towers, a metro station and a commercial center.
He also visited the 1,600,000 square meter site where the project was being implemented and which is being seen as a major development for Madinah. He expressed his happiness that a number of national cadres was employed.
Prince Faisal visited the project of intersection of Al-Hijra road and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz road. He urged that the tunnel of the main road should be opened before Ramadan as was agreed by the contractor and the Ministry of Transport.
He also visited the project for King Salman International Center for Conferences, which is coming up in an area of 91,000 square meters, with a construction area of 70,000 square meters. This will have a hall to accommodate 2,500 people. Besides, there will be multi-utility halls for 1,550 people, administrative officers to accommodate 120 employees and a parking area for 1,000 cars. It will have five gates and a main gate on Khalid bin Al-Waleed road. This is expected to be completed by Ramadan.
