Taylor Swift seems unhappy with Kanye West’s “misogynistic message” in his new track, Famous — which sees the rap star namecheck Swift.”

According to the BBC, a statement from Swift’s representatives denied West had sought permission from the star, contrary to earlier reports that she had given him her blessing. Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. The track was debuted at a listening party for West’s new album, The Life of Pablo, at New York’s Madison Square Garden — with the rapper also showcasing his latest fashion collection Yeezy Season 3.

West was rounded on by Swift’s friends and family, with her brother Austin Swift sharing a video of himself on Instagram throwing away his Yeezy shoes in response. Swift will open the 58th annual Grammy Awards with a performance from her nominated album, “1989” on Monday.
