SRMG, Nibras ink pact to fight drug menace
Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) and the National Project for the Prevention of Narcotics (Nibras) have signed a partnership to fight the druge menace.
The signing ceremony was attended by SRMG Managing Director Azzam Al-Dakhil, several SRMG executives and representatives of Nibras at the body’s premises.
Addressing the event, Al-Dakhil stressed that cooperation on the fight against drugs was a religious and national duty. He said the initiative was part of the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and interior minister, who is also president of Nibras.
The project is aimed at highlighting the dangers of drug abuse among all sectors of society. The SRMG believes that it has a major role to play in protecting the nation’s people from this scourge, said Al-Dakhil.
The partnership over the next three years would see the SRMG provide media coverage for all Nibras’ activities, including on social networking sites.
Abdulilah bin Mohammed Al-Sharif, secretary general and board chairman of Nibras, thanked the SRMG for its support. He provided a briefing on the organization’s work.
He said the Nibras project, which aims to train 1 million male and female children over the next five years, was an initiative of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation and works directly under the crown prince.
He said the media partnership would contribute to the success of the organization’s work.
