200 mosques to be built in honor of martyrs
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif has ordered the construction of 200 mosques in the name of martyrs in new housing projects all over the Kingdom.
He issued the order to honor the 210 martyrs who died during the last 14 years.
He said these martyrs are employees of the Ministry of Interior who defended the Kingdom against deviant groups who unjustly targeted innocent men, women and children.
He said that these deviant groups, who include terrorists, undermined peace and order and set back the implementation of government plans to ensure unity, security and stability for the country.
These martyrs lost their lives “to make sure that we are safe in our homes all the time and can go about our daily tasks undisturbed to earn a living for our families.”
He said that in return for their patriotism and martyrdom, the Saudi leadership has not spared anything to take care of their families.
“The Saudi leadership, headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, treasures their martyrdom and plans have been drawn up for their families so that they can rest in peace,” he said.
He said that a royal decree had been issued to give their families SR1 million each in recognition of their martyrdom in defending the country.
“The amount is a symbolic gesture of how the Saudi leadership values their sacrifices in the performance of their duty,” he said.
Housing for these families will also be secured as a further gesture of the Saudi leadership’s gratitude for their martyrdom.
“The Saudi leadership treasures the martyrs’ selflessness in risking their lives to defend Saudi citizens in particular and the Kingdom in general,” he added.
