The Kingdom, represented by the Ministry of Defense and the General Organization for Military Industries, is making waves in the arms industry in terms of military ammunition and armor, and in the development of drones for military and security uses, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Kingdom is doing so in accordance with a strategic military vision to manufacture weapons with high quality technologies. Some recent achievements include the manufacture of a drone termed ‘Luna’ as well as military transport carriages, ammunition, heavy artillery and bombs.

The General Organization for Military Industries has a number of factories for weapons of different kinds, as well as for artillery and bombs, heavy equipments, armored vehicles and other security equipment.

These measures will support various sectors of the Saudi armed forces and the Kingdom’s internal security, in addition to the security of some Gulf countries. Specifically, the new drone is highly sophisticated for reconnaissance missions and can be used at night and during the day.

The military organization also has a factory for spare parts to supply all of its other factories and is able to supply both the military and the private sector. It is also working toward achieving self-sufficiency with export potential.
