Citizens and expat residents welcome the Absher system for smartphones and expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Interior for creating innovative and developing smart interactive services that cater to the needs of smart phone users.

Mohammed Salah, resident of Jeddah, said, “This step exemplifies the ongoing efforts of the MoI to serve the public and since mobile apps are increasingly the preferred choice for everyone, the launch of government services on smartphones has made it easier and safer to access all the amenities at hand.”

It has been reported that the number of Absher system registered users has exceeded six million.

Similarly, another resident, Hamza Ahmed, said, “Everyone should try the new services and download the apps offered at MoL Store. It’s better and easier on smartphones than the online services provided by a government institution. The advanced information panel allows user to take a comprehensive look at his information 24×7 and customize the view according to his favorites.”

The Ministry of Interior besides launching a new upgraded version of the Absher system for smart devices running iOS system (iPhones and iPads) has also planned to launch a new version of Absher App for smart devices running Android system.

According to the local report, Dr. Tariq bin Abdullah Al- Sheddi, director of the National Information Center said that the work is underway to finalize the application and revealed that the launch will happen sometime soon this month.

This approach is in line with the vision of the government aimed at upgrading the services provided to the public and allowing the concept of fast and superior services.

Abdullah Salem, Egyptian resident, said “The application features a wide range of interactive services that helps us to enjoy smooth and safe transactions while keeping us informed and updated about the most important alerts and official guidelines issued by the ministry of interior. The smartphones are convenient and handy tool and having the governmental applications on it will make our life stress-free.”

“This will be a distinctive and important addition to the Absher electronic system. The main objective of developing the Absher app for smart devices is to raise the level of services and utilize the smart devices’ potentials to provide new value-added services for the benefit of citizens and resident” said Al- Sheddi.
