The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques would not allow anyone to propagate deviant ideas, said Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, the body’s president.

Al-Sudais said there was no one in the organization known for holding extremist views. He made the comments recently at a forum entitled “Achieving Intellectual Security,” hosted in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior.

“By the grace of God, the presidency has always advocated moderation under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.”

Scholars and imams in the country were united in fighting extremism, he said.

Al-Sudais said this was the duty of everyone, in line with the teachings passed on from previous generations. There was a need to ensure that the youth were not influenced by these ideas, and that they should carry the message of true Islam to counter challenges facing the religion on many fronts, he said.

Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Hadlaq, director of the intellectual security department at the interior ministry, thanked Al-Sudais for holding the event.
