Saudi Arabia’s King Salman received a US Republican Congress delegation in Riyadh on Thursday. The delegation was headed by Senator Lindsey Graham and included Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina and David Perdu of Georgia, as well as Congressmen David Jolly of Florida, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Tom Rice of South Carolina.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States and discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two countries.

Thursday’s meeting comes 10 days after four other American senators held talks with King Salman in Riyadh.

The audience was attended by Saudi Minister of State and Cabinet Member Dr. Musaed Bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel Bin Zaid Toraifi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom Dr. Dr. Joseph W. Westphal.

US President Barack Obama is due in Riyadh on April 21 to attend a summit with King Salman and leaders of Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman.
