Saudi Arabia promises stern action to ensure hajj security
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef, deputy premier and minister of interior, warned against those who try to undermine the security of the annual hajj pilgrimage and safety of pilgrims.
“We will firmly deal with all those who attempt to do this as well as those who desecrate the sanctity of the holy city of Makkah,” he said.
The Crown Prince, who is also chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee (SHC), made the remarks while chairing the meeting of the committee at his office here on Tuesday.
He urged all the officials and agencies associated with Haj to ensure the best ever services for the pilgrims so as to enable them to perform their rituals in ease and comfort, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Saed Al-Harthy, adviser to the Crown Prince and secretary general of SHC, said that the meeting reviewed a comprehensive report about the last Haj and evaluated the performance of the concerned departments and agencies.
Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Faisal Bin Salman, emir of Madinah, and other members of the committee attended the meeting.
