Dead terrorist in Jeddah

The Interior Ministry announced Friday that the security forces killed two terrorists, while one blew himself up, who were wanted in connection with the killing of a top Saudi officer and other operations against the state.

The three, who were on a most-wanted list announced in January died during operations by the security forces in Bisha. They were involved in the assassination of Col. Kitab Al-Otaibi, director-general of Al-Mobahth in Al-Quway’iyah, the ministry stated.

According to the ministry, the men had been surrounded by security forces officers and opened fire on them. Two died during the shootout, while one blew himself up by detonating an explosives belt he was wearing.

The identity of the three have not been confirmed, but initial reports state that one is Moajeb bin Farhan Al-Otaibi, fifth on the wanted list announced earlier this year. Further details would be announced soon by the ministry.
