Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, said the Border Guard’s marine vessels project is one of the projects that will boost the Kingdom’s border security, Saudi Press Agency reported.

In a speech during the commissioning of the first long range boat “Jeddah” that belongs to the marine vessels project, the Crown Prince said on Thursday evening that he is happy with the accomplishments made in the marine vessels project. He stressed that this will be one of the projects that will bolster the nation’s border security.

Prince Muhammad commissioned the boat “Jeddah” by giving the signal to hoist the Kingdom’s flag on it. He said that he looks forward to the arrival of these vessels to the marine bases of the Border Guard soon.

He thanked all who participated in this project and expressed the hope that all the vessels would arrive soon in order to boost security on the Kingdom’s coasts.

The Crown Prince considered the training and development of Saudi staff as one of the priorities of the Ministry of Interior. He said the role of machinery and equipment comes after the completion of training of the Saudi youth.

Meanwhile in a speech he made at the venue while hoisting the Kingdom’s flag on the boat in Germany, the Director General of the Border Guard Navy Maj. Gen. Awwad Bin Eid Al-Bluwi said, via TV, the marine vessels project aims to boost the Kingdom’s marine capabilities through a new generation of vessels with multiple capabilities.
