Mohammed bin Salman will be in New York next week for meetings with business leaders after a visit to the US West Coast.

Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is set to meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday, the kingdom’s ambassador said.

Saudi UN Ambassador Abdallah Al-Mouallimi told Reuters news agency that the meeting had been confirmed.

The meeting is set to discuss the crisis in Yemen. Riyadh was angered by the UN last week when a Saudi-led coalition was briefly blacklisted for killing children in the war-torn country.

The Saudi-led coalition includes Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Senegal and Sudan.

Prince Mohammed will be in New York next week for meetings with business leaders after a visit to the US West Coast, UN officials told Reuters.

“An official request has come to the office of the secretary-general for a meeting with the deputy crown prince and as soon as we’re able to confirm something we shall,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.

Prince Mohammed met with President Barack Obama on Friday and discussed ways to support Iraqis in their fight against ISIS militants and the importance of a political transition in Syria.
