Security forces ready to serve pilgrims

Security and military authorities are fully prepared to protect and serve pilgrims and visitors of the Kingdom arriving at the holy sites to perform Haj this year.

From the moment of pilgrims’ arrival in the Kingdom, during their performance of the Haj rituals, and until their departure from the Kingdom, military and security authorities are working in accordance with unified and strategic plans to ensure all needs of pilgrims are met. Meanwhile, security authorities are also keeping an eye on the borders to endure protection of the homeland.

The servicing of pilgrims is one of the most honorable jobs that security men compete with each year for as representatives of police agencies, the Ministry of Interior, Civil Defense, and the National Guard come together to carry out such important tasks.

The government is also relying of manpower in the security, military, naval, and health sectors to ensure the safe arrival of pilgrims via land, sea and airports.

The Ministry of Interior raised the preparedness of all security sectors to the highest levels to guarantee the safe movement and comfort of pilgrims, while security patrols and passport agents carry out their specific tasks.

Road security, emergency forces, hospital staff, Border Guards, and other security agencies are exerting tremendous efforts to provide a safe environment for pilgrims, while armed forces (air, land, sea, and medical sectors) also stand ready to provide service as needed. The armed forces serve as a support force to internal security forces in ensuring the safety of pilgrims, and facilitate their performance of the Haj, relying on the latest technologies and equipment.

Royal naval and air forces are also prepared and equipped to monitor traffic movement at the holy sites, as well as provide live image updates, organize movement of pilgrims in crowded areas, and provided evacuation services in emergency cases.

Saudi armed forces each year also provide extensive services and efforts to protect and serve pilgrims by assigning special units to support land forces, customs agents at all ports and through inspection processes.

The armed forces also provide numerous support and organizational services through its different departments such as the Public Department for Civil Affairs, the Public Department for Medical Affairs, the Public Department for Retirees Affairs and the Relations and Guidance Department.

The Saudi Commandos are also participating in supporting security and government agencies during the Haj season with highly skilled and trained personnel ready to provide assistance in required circumstances.
