Russian President Vladimir Putin called Saudi’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman a “very reliable partner with whom you can reach agreements, and can be certain that those agreements will be honored,” in an interview with Bloomberg on Friday.

The two are set to meet at the G20 summit in Hangzhou China on Sunday, after the deputy crown prince completes a trip of wider Asia that saw him visit Pakistan, Beijing and Japan.

According to Kremlin sources, the Russian president will discuss Syria and oil supply freezes with Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister Adel al-Jubair said last month that the kingdom is keen to build the best relations with Russia in a number of joint cooperation fields.
