Saudi-led Arab-backed coalition have launched a series of air raids on Houthi militias and forces loyal to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh across several cities.

The focus of the bombardment took place in the capital Sanaa and Houthi-stronghold Saada while fierce clashes broke out between militias and the Yemeni army in Taiz.

Security forces also confirmed that coalition forces struck Houthi militia sites in the western Yemeni provinces of al-Hudaydah and al- Mahwit, where three strikes hit a central army barracks and a fourth strike targeted the residence of Saleh in the coastal city of Hudaydah.

In Marib, sources reported that the coalition air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile fired into the skies above Marib by militia forces.
