Crown prince homeward bound after mission to UN
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, has left New York for Riyadh after heading the Kingdom’s delegation to the 71st annual session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He was seen off at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York by Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki, Saudi ambassador to the United States; Prince Musa’b bin Mohammed Al-Farhan; Saudi Ambassador to the UN Abdullah Al-Mo’allemi; and other officials of the Saudi mission in the US.
The crown prince was accompanied by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, adviser to minister of interior; Minister of State and Cabinet Member Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; adviser at the Royal Court Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Muhaisin; and several other high officials.
He addressed the 71st UNGA session on Wednesday, outlining the the Kingdom’s views on various developments in the region such as the Yemeni issue, the Syrian conflict and the exodus of Syrian refugees.
On Monday, he spoke at the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants, outlining the assistance Saudi Arabia has provided to Syrian refugees.
He explained that the Kingdom’s handling of the issue of refugees, which is a result of ethnic conflicts, wars, disasters and struggle, is based on the principles and instructions of Islamic religion which calls for peace.
