The 47-year-old Saudi Arabian Khalil al-Omayrini, who was found dead on Tuesday in his apartment in Cairo, is seen in a new video taken during his farewell party at his school before his killing in Egypt.

Khalil, who decided to leave his teaching job, was seen in the sendoff with his students and colleagues saying their goodbyes. His colleagues also brought him a cake, which had his picture with their greeting on it that said: “Thank you Khalil, wish you success.” The story of Omayrini’s killing went viral through a hashtag circulated on twitter in Arabic.

In an interview with Al Arabiya, Saleh al-Omayrini, one of the victim’s relatives, said that the circumstances behind the death are still mysterious. He said the criminal side was obvious because the doors tohis apartment were open, but his body was purposely hidden from neighbors, the building watchman, and the maid who cleans his apartment from time to time.

Investigations are still going on.

When police reached Omayrini’s apartment, they found most of the contents inside were scattered, indicating that the alleged killer was searching for something. The victim’s belongings were still there, dismissing robbery as motive behind the murder.
