Sources from Yemen’s army and resistance forces have confirmed they were able to retake complete control in parts of eastern Taiz.

The forces were able to regain control of Al-Jehmaliah town and other eastern parts of Taiz city from Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Civilian sources also said parts of the Republican Palace neighborhood in the city were liberated after months of siege by militia forces.

Key facilities in the areas liberated included a military hospital, an army supplies center, two schools and a cultural center.

Recently, Houthi militias have been accused of attacking civilian buildings in Taiz, including places of worship, pictures obtained by Al Arabiya News Channel have shown.

Images have revealed how the armed militias violated the sanctity of the Tawhid mosque in Taiz.
