UAE citizens are no longer required to have visas to visit the scenic The Bahamas after the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday, the official Emirati WAM news agency reported.

The memorandum of understanding – signed in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi – also stated that people of the Bahamas do not need visas upon arrival in the UAE.

The Bahamas, located north of Cuba in the Atlantic Ocean, is a commonwealth country and is made up of more than 700 islands, cays and islets.

Tony Jody was also chosen as the first Bahamas’ non-resident ambassador in the UAE.
