The Syrian opposition High Negotiations Committee on Friday discussed the forthcoming talks in Geneva in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

An official at the Syrian Coalition stressed that there is a consensus between the Coalition, the negotiation commission and the military factions on the formation of a negotiating delegation to Geneva capable of achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people.

Hisham Marwa, a member of the Syrian National Coalition, said: “It’s too early to talk about the outcome of the meeting which will be held today and tomorrow, but there is consensus on the outlines to form an inclusive delegation comprising all political and revolutionary bodies.”

However, unverified leaked reports indicated there is a tentative agreement to validate the political transition and the implementation of Geneva-1 terms.

The UN-mediated talk is scheduled to take place on February 20.
