UAE Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum believes the GCC under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will play a positive role on both Arab and regional levels.

“GCC achievements over the next four years will match all the feats fulfilled by the council over the past 40 years,” Sheikh Mohammed said during his speech at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Sunday.

The UAE vice-president said a number of media networks were responsible for inciting instabilities witnessed in several Arab nations over the past few years.

“Some Arabic media spurred revolutions, and we have 1300 organizations at the cost of $30 billion that are triggering sectarian conflicts,” he added.

According to Sheikh Mohammed, the former US administrations committed a series of mistakes that included supporting the Arab Spring and the invasion of Iraq.
