Egypt Air flight detours after bird gashes front glass

An Egypt Air plane.


An Egypt Air flight from Aswan to Cairo was forced to return to its boarding point on Friday after a bird hit and smashed the Embraer E170 jet gashing its front glass.

According to a company official, the plane had to return to Aswan to be replaced by another that especially flew from Cairo.

All passengers were booked at a hotel near Aswan awaiting the arrival of the replacement plane.
