Yemen requests UN to designate Houthis as ‘terrorists’
The legitimate government of Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi has requested the United Nations Security Council to designate Houthi militias as “terrorists”.
In a letter read out by Yemen’s envoy to the United Nations Khaled al-Yamani on Saturday, Iranian interferences by supplying weapons to Houthi militias were highlighted.
Yamani submitted the complaint in a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
Meanwhile, a report issued by UN experts on the situation in Yemen revealed that Houthi militias’ violations range from corruption to torture.
The report exposed the militias’ financial corruption and said that they violated the humanitarian international law during the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
