WhatsApp is the latest Facebook product to roll out its own version of Snapchat
The Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp has copied Snapchat’s popular stories format and is using it to replace its text-based status messages, Technology website The Verge reported on Monday.
Similar to Snapchat, WhatsApp stories will allow the user to take a photo that can be edited with drawings, text, and emojis.
The picture will then appear as a story in a new “status” tab, where your contacts can view it for the next 24 hours.
WhatsApp will be the fourth Facebook product to use the Snapchat model. Instagram was the first, in August, followed by Facebook Messenger and then Facebook itself, who are still testing the feature in a small number of countries.
