Saudi Arabia’s King Salman arrives in Japan as part of Asia tour
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman is beginning his visit to Japan on Sunday as part of his Asia tour.
The visit to Tokyo will focus on investment opportunities, energy ties, Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and commercial partnership. Regional conflicts will also be discussed when the king meets with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday. The king will also meet with Japanese emperor Akihito.
A statement released the Southeast Asian country’s foreign affairs ministry read: “The Japanese government sincerely welcomes the visit of King Salman and hopes that this visit of will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.”
The king is traveling to Japan from Indonesia. He had previously visited Malaysia and Brunei earlier this month.
