Adele stirs up social media after kissing hijab-wearing fan in Australia

Superstar singer Adele

Superstar singer Adele is no stranger to the limelight but she made headlines in Australia recently for something other than her talent.

During a concert in Sydney, Adele reached out to kiss the hand of a hijab-wearing fan and promptly set social media alight.

Many took to Twitter to praise the singer’s actions as a symbol of inclusivity.

“Adele’s concert at ANZ Olympic Stadium, in Sydney, Australia kissing a Hijabi’s hand #respect,” one user wrote.

Another posted: “Adele kisses a Muslim fan’s hand as a form of respect. A true feminist icon!”

According to Australia’s Nine News, the lucky fan is called Samira Dandachl.

“Adele had just finished singing ‘When We Were Young’ when my fiance, Adi, lifted me up on his shoulders,” she told Nine News.

“I was crying, and she said ‘don’t cry darling’ and I kissed her hand. She returned the favor and kissed my hand back.”
