A Palestinian teenager stabbed and slightly wounded four Israelis in Tel Aviv on Sunday, police said, adding that the suspect was arrested.

The 18-year-old used a wire-cutter to carry out the attack in a hotel and on the city’s seaside promenade, wounding four people who were given first aid before being taken to hospital, police said.

“Police units at the scene confirm that the incident is a terror-related incident,” a spokesman said.

“The Palestinian suspect was arrested by police and being questioned.” A statement said the attack took place on Yarkon Street.

Earlier Sunday, authorities announced the arrest of six Israelis, including two soldiers, suspected of racist attacks against Arabs using knives and other weapons.

They were charged with “terrorist” offences, they said.

A wave of unrest which erupted in October 2015 has claimed the lives of 261 Palestinians, 41 Israelis, two Americans, one Jordanian, an Eritrean, a Sudanese and a Briton, according to an AFP count.

Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, Israeli authorities say.

Others were shot dead during protests or clashes, while some were killed in Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.

The violence has greatly subsided in recent months.
