Iraqi army frees Musheirefa area northwest of Mosul
:: Iraqi army forces of the Ninth Armored Division managed on Thursday to liberate the second district of Musheirefa to the right side of the city of Mosul, and taking control of the water purification project in the area.
In an interview with Al Arabiya, the commander of the 9th Armored Division, Lt. General Qassim Nazzal al-Maliki stated that “the 9th Armored Division liberated the second neighborhood of Musheirefa and brought under its control the water purification project of the area.”
Al-Maliki added that the units also liberated the northern part of the third district of Musheirefa in the right coast of the city of Mosul.
The Lt. General confirmed that “his forces destroyed five car bombs, killed more than 30 ISIS fighters and destroyed more than three caches of weapons and mortar shells.”
He also stressed that his forces have evacuated more than 1,000 families fleeing the battlefields and provided them with relief and humanitarian support.
The leadership of ‘We Are Coming, Nineveh Operation’ announced on Thursday morning a raid on the northern right coast of the city of Mosul.
The commander of the operations declared that “At 06:00 hours, the 9th Armored Division, the 73rd Brigade of the 15th Brigade and the Federal Police Force of the Rapid Response Forces began raiding the northern right coast of the areas of Musheirefa, al Kanisa and al Harmet.
