Egypt’s first lady appears for the 1st time in a presidential meeting

:: Egypt’s first lady Mrs. Intesar Amer, wife of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, appeared for the first time in an official presidential meeting since Sisi took office as president.

Egypt’s presidential office shared pictures of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the first lady receiving his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife during their stop at Cairo airport on their way to the United Kingdom.

The meeting follows the visit of the President to Nairobi in February, thus contributing to the development of the distinguished relations between the two sides.

The two sides discussed the joint cooperation between the two countries and ways to push forward their relations, particularly in the economic fields. The two presidents stressed the importance of convening the seventh session of the joint committee headed by the two foreign ministers in 2017.

Ambassador Alaa Yousef said that the meeting also discussed a number of regional issues of mutual interest, especially the developments in the brotherly country of Somalia, where the Kenyan president participates in a conference organized by the United Kingdom, Somalia and the United Nations.
