:: Apache attack helicopters and artillery belonging to the Saudi Air Force have eliminated Abdul Khaliq Ali Mohamed Al-Asadi, one of the leaders in the Republican Guard allied to ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh alongside 13 others, Al Arabiya News Channel reported on Friday.

Saleh had formally announced alliance with the Iran-backed Houthi militias two years ago.

The news comes after security sources said that Saudi forces were able to foil yet another infiltration attempt by the Houthis to enter the southwestern border city of Najran and target a military site there.
