GCC secretary general urges Yemenis to reject calls of division

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) secretary general Abdel Latif al-Zayani.


:: The six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Saturday reiterated its stance towards the unity and sovereignty of Yemen, its security and stability and its support for the efforts of the United Nations to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis.

The GCC – made up of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman – said it urges a solution in accordance with the Gulf Initiative, the outputs of the Yemeni National Dialogue conference and Security Council Resolution 2216.

GCC Secretary-General Abdul Latif al-Zayani, stressed that the GCC states call on all components of the Yemeni people to reject the calls of division and separation and to support the legitimate government led by President Abdrabbo Mansour Hadi.
