:: Egyptian director Mohamed Diab received Best Director and Best Screenplay awards for his revolution drama “Clash” from the Arab Critics’ Awards at Cannes Film Festival on Sunday.

Film maker Tamer El Said won Best Film for his movie “The Last Days of the City.”

A jury of 26 film critics from 15 countries headed this year’s edition.

The Best Actor award went to Tunisian Majd Mastoura for his performance in “Inhebek Hedi” and Best Actress went to Heba Ali for “Withered Green.”

In the Un Certain Regard lineup, Tunisian director Kaouther Ben-Hania’s “Aala Kaf Ifrit” and Algerian director Karim Moussaoui’s “Until the Birds Return,” also feature.

Also competing in Cannes is the Egyptian movie “Ali, Me’za, w Ibrahim” for Junior Screenings, along with seven other international films.

Other movies representing Egypt outside the main competition include “Mastoura” by Mohanad Diab, , “Photoshop” by Soha Samir, and “Piece of Wood” by Yassein Koptane.

The Arab Critic’s Awards is organized by the Arab Cinema Center (ACC) with the objective to endorse Arab cinema promotion worldwide.
