2 wanted terrorists killed in Qatif car bomb explosion

:: Two wanted terrorists were killed in a car explosion in the eastern city of Qatif on Thursday and police are said to be looking for three others who survived.

Police have reportedly identified the two suspects as Fadhel Al-Hamada and Mohammed Al-Somayel.

Video circulating on social media showed a car engulfed in flames and thick plumes of black smoke.

Social media reports quoted eyewitnesses as saying three other persons were seen fleeing from the car, fueling suspicions that the car bomb exploded prematurely.

The Interior Ministry is expected to come up with a statement about the explosion soon.

Violence between Shiite militants and security forces there has increased in recent weeks in Qatif and other parts of the Eastern Province, with several incidents of militants firing rocket-propelled grenades at police. The Daesh group has also previously launched attacks on Shiites in Qatif.
