Bahrain to act against supporters of Qatar-linked terror groups
:: Bahrain’s minister of justice has said Manama will take legal action against any political organization found communicating or expressing support for the people and groups named in a new Qatar-linked terror blacklist.
The ministry would hold accountable “all those who employ religion to support organized ties or allegiances to a state” that targets the stability of other states, Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa said in a statement carried by state news agency BNA.
The Minister of Justice stressed they are cooperating with the Ministry of the Interior in an ongoing process and in the fight against crimes of financing and funding of terror groups linked to the new terror list.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on Friday designated as terrorists dozens of people and groups with alleged links to Qatar, after severing diplomatic relations with Qatar on Monday.
The four states accuse Qatar of supporting extremist Islamist militants and Iran.
