UAE minister: Any deal with Qatar needs binding by monitoring from the west

The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash stressed that any discussion to end the crisis in Qatar will be based on stopping Doha’s support for extremist militants.

:: The UAE stressed that any agreement to end Qatar’s funding for terrorism would require a Western regulatory system to bind Doha, because UAE and its allies; Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain do not trust Qatar anymore, a UAE minister has said.

The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash stressed that any discussion to end the crisis in Qatar will be based on stopping Doha’s support for extremist militants.

Gargash said that it is difficult to defend any position based on conspiracies, not fulfilling promises and lacking of any credibility. It is easy when it is honest and transparent, he said in reference to Qatar, and its media and diplomacy, which tries to defend Doha’s position and policy.

“I pity the only media voice, which is present repeatedly with no evidence… it became a difficult task with evidences confirming the existence of the conflicts and breaking of promises. The essence of a truly influential media out is its credibility,” Gargash tweeted.

“It turned out that when building a mass media machine, citizens were ignored, the internal voice became weak and repeated, and it will not be replaced by the voice of electronic brigades with agendas,” he said on Saturday

Gargash’s tweets came hours after Bahraini authorities on Friday revealed phone conversations between Hamad bin Khalifa al-Attiyah, a special adviser to Qatar’s former emir, and outlawed Bahraini cleric Hassan Ali Mohammed Jumaa Sultan. The conversations proved how Qatar conspired against Bahrain to stir up chaos the Gulf country by offering to broadcast their agenda on Al Jazeera.
