Yemen launches investigation into human rights abuses in liberated areas

Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dajar issued a decision to form a joint committee to investigate allegations about violations of human rights.


:: Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dajar issued a decision to form a joint committee to investigate allegations regarding violations of human rights in liberated areas.

The committee will include six members: Judge Gamal Omar, Minister of Justice as its chairman, Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Deputy Assistant of the Ministry of Interior for the Public Security Sector.

The committee also includes representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the National Security and Political Security Departments.

The Commission will inspect the allegations about the violations of human rights and establish a mechanism to deal with any future problems in this regard and it is set to submit its report to the prime minister within 15 days.
