Protesters outside White House denounce Qatar terror links

:: As the deadline given to Qatar by the boycotting countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt) ends soon (July 3rd), American organizations and figures have called for new demonstrations to denounce Doha’s support for terrorism.

Several US groups had rallied in front of the White House and the Qatari embassy in Washington to protest against Qatar’s sponsorship of terrorism.

In a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, US President Donald Trump stressed on the need to intensify the efforts of all countries to combat terrorism and extremist ideologies, in response to the Qatari crisis with its neighbors.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah arrived to the Turkish capital Ankara on Thursday for an official visit, which comes a few days before the end of the deadline granted by the boycotting countries urging Qatar to accept a list of demands set by these countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt), before the end of the deadline on July 3rd.

The Qatari defense minister is expected to meet with his Turkish counterpart, Fikri Işık.

Sources at the Turkish Ministry of Defense said that Attiyah will hold official meetings to discuss the 13 requests on the list of Arab demands, aiming to stop the support of terrorism.

Last month, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt had cut ties with Qatar, due to Doha’s role in supporting terrorist groups.
