Mattis tells Qatari counterpart not to escalate tensions with Arab neighbors

:: US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis on Friday discussed with his Qatari counterpart Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah the importance of not escalating tensions with neighboring countries, a statement said.

Earlier, Mattis described several Gulf countries and other states as having diplomatic relations with Qatar in a very complex situation. He noted the need to stop Doha funding terrorism.
