A quadrant meeting with Tillerson in Jeddah tomorrow
:: The foreign ministers of the four countries boycotting Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain will attend a meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Jeddah on Wednesday to discuss the concerns of Qatar crisis.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri received an invitation from his Saudi counterpart Adel al-Jubeir to attend the meeting in Jeddah, reported Al Arabiya.
Shukri will travel to Jeddah following his return on Tuesday evening from the Ivorian capital Abidjan after representing Egypt at the forty-fourth session for the council of foreign ministers of The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
Abu Zeid added that the meeting comes within the framework of the keenness to coordinate positions and assert solidarity among the four countries for the future dealings with Qatar.
The four countries are stressing their adherence to their collective stand and measures taken against Qatar in light of its violation of international laws and norms.
The boycott is the first measure against Qatar’s support for terrorism and extremism and its adverse interference in the Arab states’ internal affairs and threatening their peace and security both nationally and internationally.
