High living costs as food, travel prices shoot up in Qatar

Food prices have doubled and at times went up 10 times if compared to costs prior to the boycott, which started in early June.


:: Living costs in Qatar have become far more expensive following boycott by all of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt, Al Arabiya’s sister news channel, Al Hadath reported on Wednesday.

Airline tickets have also soared as it became compulsory for travelers to leave to a third country to reach their destinations.

General Authority of Civil Aviation in all of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE have announced the flight boycott includes Qatari airlines and planes registered under it.
