After visiting Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Erdogan visits Qatar

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is welcomed by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani in Doha.


:: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is currently in the Qatari capital of Doha after visiting Saudi Arabia and Kuwait a day earlier as part of ongoing mediation efforts.

Erdogan met with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Sunday as part of a two-day tour of the Gulf and mediating efforts in regards to the ongoing Qatar crisis.

The Turkish president met with Al-Sabah on Sunday night after first visiting Saudi Arabia where he met with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

During the meeting, both leaders reviewed the relations between the two countries, discussed developments in the region and efforts exerted to combat terrorism and its sources of funding.

Erdogan said in his comment on the crisis with Qatar that he hopes it will be resolved through peaceful means and dialogue, saying that prolonging the Qatari crisis will not benefit any of the parties to the dispute.
