Saudi envoy to the UN: Riyadh increased efforts to combat extremism

Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Maalami, said that Saudi Arabia has made incessant efforts to counter extremism.

In a speech before the General Assembly of the UN, Al-Maalami said that Saudi Arabia wholeheartedly condemns all acts of terrorism, stressing that the fight against terrorism is a shared international responsibility that requires intensive and sustained efforts.

The foreign ministers of the four anti-terrorism countries; Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, will hold a meeting at the Bahraini capital Manama on Saturday to discuss the latest developments of Qatar crisis.

The two-day meeting reflects the interest of the four countries in coordinating their positions and affirming their demands from Qatar.

The ministers will assess the updates concerning Qatar crisis to stop its support of terrorism as well as its negative interference in the internal affairs of their countries.
